Corporate Social Responsibility

ATO recognizes and embraces its commitment to the communities in which we operate in India and the rest of the World.

We believe the private sector plays a vital role in creating a level playing field, driving innovation and building an environment that enhances education and entrepreneurship to foster economic growth.

People lie at the heart of ATO’s corporate social responsibility approach. As a result, one of ATO’s key challenges is to support all of its people from the moment they join the company and throughout their career within the Group. Through its emphasis on social responsibility, ATO aims to develop a committed and fair human resources policy through: recruitment, mobility and training; diversity; and responsible employment management.

ATO strives to protect our environment, which includes conserving natural resources while complying with all applicable local, national and international environmental, health and safety laws. We endeavor to instill environmentally aware practices throughout our operations, from our global corporate processes to the individual actions of our employees and others working on our behalf. We believe this is our social responsibility and that sustainable business practices are good for our world and right for our business. Because of this belief, our company focuses its efforts on providing our customers with best-in-class products and services that are environmentally sustainable.

ATO has been engaged in various CSR activities in the past through its foundation – the Poddar Charitable Trust. Some of our recent CSR activities include:

  • Distributing blankets and sweaters to rural India during the severe winter months
  • Helping local communities with food and transportation during the Mumbai floods in 2006
  • Engaging in quick transportation of corpses to bereaved families during calamities
  • Swachh Bharat Campaign: Employees regularly participate in cleaning drive through streets and parks
